Program Coordinator: Tristen B. Johnson
Tristen Johnson is the Program Coordinator for the Our Wisconsin program. Tristen was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and African American Studies. From there, she obtained her Master’s of Science degree in Higher Education with an emphasis in College Student Personnel from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2014. She is currently enrolled at Illinois State University in the Higher Education Administration Foundations Ph.D. program. After working two years full-time at Illinois State University, Tristen transitioned to the University of Illinois in 2016 and began working as a Residence Hall Director. Tristen has a co-authored article published in the Journal for Leadership Studies about authenticity in the workplace. In March 2016, she had a blog post about Black women and hair in professional work environments published on the NASPA website. She has a passion for student success and an advocate for social justice and diversity. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated and enjoys creative writing and going to the movies!
Program Director: Aaric Guerriero
Aaric Guerriero serves as the Program Director for Inclusion Education and oversees the Our Wisconsin Program. Aaric arrives at UW-Madison from Colorado State University, where he served as the Director of the Pride Resource Center. Previously, Aaric served UW-Parkside as the founding Director of the LGBTQ Resource Center. Aaric holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in Recreation, Sports, and Leisure Services from Central Michigan University, as well as a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration with a Student Affairs emphasis also from CMU. On a personal note, Aaric enjoys reading, experiencing local culture, and enjoying the great outdoors with his dog and best friend, Dot. He is excited to be a part of the Madison and UW community!
